Workers’ Month 2026 begins with a renewed spirit — a spirit of continuous innovation, confidence, and aspiration for growth driven by the workforce. Amid the Textile and Garment industry’s increasingly unpredictable market fluctuations and mounting pressure to improve productivity, this year’s Workers’ Month carries a clear direction: unlocking internal strength from employees through innovation and the promotion of collective power. A wide range of activities will be implemented, going beyond employee care and welfare improvement to create an environment that encourages employee initiatives, develops professional skills, strengthens solidarity, boosts motivation, and unites collective strength to overcome challenges together.

From Support to Partnership and Breakthrough

Workers’ Month 2026 continues to be renewed in both content and implementation methods, aiming to provide comprehensive support for employees while also promoting workers’ central role in innovation, professional skill enhancement, and productivity improvement to adapt to the new context.

The textile and garment industry is facing mounting pressure from geopolitical fluctuations, rising trade protectionism, changing tax policies, increasing logistics and raw material costs, as well as the risk of supply chain disruptions. In addition, increasingly stringent requirements regarding traceability, emissions, and social responsibility are creating further challenges for both enterprises and workers.

In this context, organizing Workers’ Month in a more practical and in-depth manner is considered an important solution for improving workforce quality, building a positive working environment, strengthening collective solidarity, and helping both enterprises and employees enhance productivity, overcome challenges, and move toward sustainable development.

Turning Innovation into Internal Capability

In the implementation orientation for Workers’ Month 2026 by the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union, innovation has been identified as a key focus for improving labor productivity and workforce quality. Employees are regarded as the driving force of innovation, with every initiative and effective practice encouraged, recognized, and widely promoted in direct connection with the practical needs of each enterprise.

Competition campaigns are being implemented across each production stage and job position, enabling employees to participate more substantively while fostering internal innovation capabilities. At the same time, Workers’ Month also serves as a peak period for vocational skill enhancement and grassroots-level skilled worker competitions in preparation for the 7th Textile and Garment Industry Skilled Workers Competition scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.

The commendation and reward system is being renewed with a stronger focus on depth and substance, prioritizing the recognition of key workers with high productivity, effective initiatives, and the ability to share and spread professional expertise. Training programs, forums, and competitions are being closely integrated to help employees enhance their skills, translate knowledge into practical capabilities, and cultivate a stronger passion for their profession.

Through a synchronized mechanism of launching, training, and recognition, Workers’ Month 2026 aims to transform innovation from a promotional slogan into a sustainable, self-driven motivation for textile and garment workers and the industry.

Building Collective Strength Through Stronger Unity

Workers’ Month 2026 continues to reaffirm the role of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union and grassroots trade unions in caring for employees’ well-being, maintaining workforce stability, and developing sustainable human resources. Activities are being implemented in coordination with enterprises to improve working conditions, enhance employee welfare, and strengthen workers’ commitment to their companies.

Many practical programs continue to be maintained and upgraded in quality, including support for workers facing difficult circumstances or occupational accidents, the construction and renovation of  the “Trade Union Shelter housing program, improvements to worker meals through the “Trade Union Meal” initiative, health check-up programs, and the organization of forums and recreational activities for workers. The overall goal is to improve employees’ quality of life and working environment.

The trade union is also promoting vocational skills training, expanding employee welfare through preferential retail networks, and organizing community activities such as the Textile and Garment Sports Festival and voluntary blood donation programs to enhance health, solidarity, and connectivity throughout the system. At the same time, Workers’ Month serves as an opportunity to promote union membership development, establish grassroots trade unions, and nurture outstanding union members for Party consideration.

Besides, trade union communications activities are being modernized through multi-platform approaches to further promote the image of dynamic and innovative textile and garment workers while creating broader channels for connection and engagement.

By combining employee welfare initiatives with workforce development, Workers’ Month 2026 aims to build a committed, proactive, and resilient workforce, contributing to a strong internal foundation that helps enterprises and the textile and garment industry overcome challenges and achieve sustainable development in the new context.
