Integrated Solutions for Enhancing Yarn Quality

Thursday, 21/05/2026, 13:49

Following trends in the apparel industry mono-material dyed yarn is expected to soon become a common standard. This creates an urgent requirement for yarn manufacturers to upgrade product quality to a higher level while maintaining strict control over the entire production chain for integration with the textile dyeing and garment sectors. Facing new market opportunities, Hoa Tho Textile Garment Joint Stock Corporation (Hoa Tho Corporation) has proactively implemented integrated solutions across its entire system to capture opportunities in the high-end, high value-added yarn segment.

Strong Pressure for Innovation from the Market

Head of the Yarn Technology Engineering Department at Hoa Tho Corporation, Mr. Nguyen Huu Khanh stated that product quality is the “passport” to customer retention in the yarn industry, especially as the market demands higher technical standards, traceability, and consistent quality. Amid intense competition during the 2023–2025 period, technological innovation and product upgrading have become essential requirements for yarn manufacturers.

According to industry assessments, single-component dyed yarn is expected to soon become a mainstream trend, requiring enterprises to exercise ensure synchronized management across the entire production chain rather than focusing only on individual production stages. Yarn quality depends heavily on stable input materials with low impurity levels and strict control of fiber Parameters

The carding process is considered a key stage in determining yarn uniformity and structure, although its effectiveness also depends on raw material quality and equipment conditions. For high-tech yarn products, even minor deviations can cause defects after dyeing and reduce product value. Besides, production management and the control of  reclaimed materials also play an important role in maintaining consistent quality.

In addition to quality pressures, the yarn industry is also facing fluctuations in cotton prices and raw material costs due to the impact of the USD exchange rate, trade policies, and geopolitical conditions. This requires enterprises to optimize both product quality and operational efficiency

For Hoa Tho Corporation, the short-term strategy is to maintain its key blended yarn product lines such as CVCD and TCM, while the long-term goal is to shift toward higher value-added and more competitive yarn products.

Building an Integrated System from Raw Materials to Digital Transformation

Leaders of Hoa Tho Corporation stated that improving yarn quality requires the synchronized implementation of solutions spanning raw materials, technology, and management. In the input stage, Hoa Tho has upgraded its cotton blending strategy with stringent requirements for fiber strength, short-fiber content, impurity levels, and micronaire values, while also increasing cotton and fiber inventories to stabilize production and minimize risks associated with batch changes.

In production management, the company focuses on strict control of fibers and reclaimed materials, clear classification of each batch, and precise blending ratios to maintain yarn consistency. Organizing production through dedicated lines for each yarn type, limiting product changes, and planning production schedules 15 days in advance help stabilize operations and product quality.

Hoa Tho Corporation is also accelerating technology optimization, increasing automation, and applying real-time quality monitoring systems alongside predictive maintenance to improve efficiency and reduce long-term costs. At the same time, the company is implementing 5S practices, tightening quantitative control, and strengthening production hygiene management.

Regarding human resources, the company identifies technical training and updated knowledge in spinning–weaving-dyeing technologies as key factors. Specialized training programs, in-depth seminars, and experience-sharing activities at Viet Tri Textile Company and Vinatex Phu Cuong are expected to strengthen workforce capabilities. In parallel, the deployment of an ERP system for the yarn sector and the application of E-Office solutions are helping build a more transparent digital management foundation and improve quality control efficiency.

According to Hoa Tho Corporation, improving yarn quality is not merely a technical upgrade but a comprehensive transformation in both mindset and operations. This is considered the key to restructuring, enhancing brand positioning, expanding participation in higher-value market segments, and achieving sustainable development in the textile and garment industry.
