SaigonTex – Saigon Fabric 2025 Exhibition Embracing Cutting-Edge Technology and the Latest Trends in the Textile and Garment Industry
From April 9 to 12, Ho Chi Minh City hosted the International Exhibition on Textile & Garment Industry – Equipment, Materials & Fabrics 2025 (SaigonTex – SaigonFabric 2025). This exhibition served as a vital platform for domestic and international businesses to network, promote brands, seek partners, and expand their markets. It also showcased the latest global textile technologies and trends.
Marking its 35th anniversary in 2025, SaigonTex & SaigonFabric has significantly expanded its scale, attracting over 1,100 exhibitors from 25 countries and territories, occupying 34,000m² to display the latest textile and garment products and technologies.
This year’s exhibition highlights ten key product categories: Garment and Embroidery Machinery and Equipment; Spinning, Weaving, Dyeing, and Finishing Machinery and Parts; CAD–CAM Systems and Fabric Cutting Machines; Printing and Packaging; Software and Supporting Devices; Buttons, Needles, Threads, Zippers, Ribbons, Shoulder Pads; Fabrics, Yarns, and Textile Raw Materials; Fashion Products and Trends; Testing and Measurement; Chemicals and Dyes. Moreover, the organizers introduced specialized business matchmaking zones by territory to facilitate more efficient partner connections in target markets.
At the event, Mr. Tran Ngoc Liem – Director of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Ho Chi Minh City Branch – emphasized that the textile and garment industry is one of Vietnam’s leading sectors. It significantly contributes to both domestic and international trade growth while continuously attracting foreign investment over the years. In 2024, the industry recorded nearly USD 44 billion in export turnover, an 11.26% increase compared to 2023. It was among the top eight export items, exceeding USD 10 billion, making Vietnam the world’s second-largest textile exporter after China, surpassing Bangladesh.
“The International Exhibition on Textile & Garment Industry – Equipment, Materials & Fabrics 2025 offers a prime opportunity for Vietnamese textile enterprises to access advanced and modern technologies. It enables them to plan future investments. For 35 years, SaigonTex – Hanoitex has not only presented Vietnam’s textile achievements—from raw materials and machinery to finished products—but has also been a crucial platform for both domestic and international businesses to connect with reputable suppliers, strengthen trade ties, integrate deeper into the global value chain, increase localization, diversify to meet customer needs, comply with origin requirements in trade agreements, and enhance product value, thereby fostering the deeper international integration of Vietnam’s textile industry,” said Mr. Tran Ngoc Liem.
Mr. Liem also noted that despite the sector’s impressive growth in trade and investment, challenges remain, including labor shortages, unpredictable order volumes, origin requirements under FTAs, and emerging trade barriers in traditional markets. To overcome these issues, he recommended that businesses intensify value chain linkages, adopt automation and green production practices—especially in materials and fuel—and deepen their integration into the global textile supply chain. Specifically, from now to 2030, the industry will shift from rapid to sustainable development. Between 2031 and 2035, it will pursue effective sustainability through a circular economy model, completing the domestic value chain and securing a high-value position in the global supply chain.
Mr. Cao Huu Hieu, CEO of Vinatex, stated that SaigonTex plays an essential role in the growth of Vietnam’s textile industry. Over the years, textiles and garments have been a key economic sector, consistently growing since 1990. SaigonTex has become a prestigious and effective bridge connecting Vietnamese textile firms with international suppliers, enabling deeper participation in the global value chain and reinforcing the industry’s pivotal role in national economic growth.
“The role of the exhibition will become even more critical in the coming phase as green transformation and digital transformation become long-term trends in the global and Vietnamese textile markets. Vietnamese textile companies must thoroughly prepare to keep pace and meet customer demands for high-value-added products. Embracing modern technology that minimizes energy and resource usage, utilizing renewable energy, and investing in dual transformation technologies, including digital transformation, are some strategies that leading Vietnamese textile firms are targeting,” emphasized Mr. Cao Huu Hieu.
Many businesses at the 2025 Exhibition praised its organization, scale, quality, and overall significance.
Ms. Claudia Anselmi, CEO of Hung Yen Knitting & Dyeing Co., Ltd., said: “This year, our company presents sustainable and eco-friendly product lines. Although made from synthetic fabric, our spandex fiber is derived from natural sources like sugarcane and corn, ensuring durability and environmental friendliness. With the exhibition’s growing scale, connecting textile businesses and suppliers worldwide, we hope to introduce our high-quality product lines and manufacturing capabilities to global supply chains.”
Participating for the first time with an independent booth, the Sustainable Fashion Solutions Company aimed to reach more businesses, partners, and clients, while gaining insights into global and Vietnamese textile trends. CEO Ms. Tran Thuong remarked that the professionally organized exhibition offered an excellent environment for businesses to explore new technologies and industry needs.
“As a young company in the industry, we come to the exhibition to learn about the latest machinery, domestic materials, and legally imported inputs to diversify our material sources. We’re also moving toward eco-friendly options like recycled materials to create fashionable, practical, and sustainable products. SaigonTex – SaigonFabric 2025 truly meets all the needs of textile and garment businesses and customers,” Ms. Tran Thuong shared.
